Based on a true story, Mary was a sweet lady from Albany, New York who had an untimely and gruesome demise on February 12, 1912 (which also happens to be the songwriter's birthday).
This track was written for the Albany Public Library's "Albany Homicide Tales & Murder Ballads" in October of 2015.
